Who we are

Lighter (“Lighter”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides virtual office manager and executive assistant services. Lighter is currently operated as a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at hello@get-lighter.com.

What data we collect

We collect personal data when you:

  • Book a call via Calendly — your name, email address, and any details you choose to add when scheduling.
  • Send an enquiry through our contact form — your name, email address, and the message you write. This opens your own email app to send the message directly to us; we do not store form submissions on a server.
  • Email us directly — whatever information is contained in your email and any attachments.
  • Browse our website — anonymised, aggregated visit statistics (such as page views and referrers) via Vercel Analytics. This does not use cookies or track you individually across sites.

If you go on to become a client, we'll also collect information necessary to deliver our services — for example, details about the tasks, tools, and communications you ask us to manage on your behalf.

How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Respond to enquiries and arrange consultation calls
  • Deliver and administer our services to clients
  • Meet our legal and accounting obligations (for example, invoicing and tax records)
  • Understand and improve how our website is used, in aggregate

Our legal basis for this is either your consent (when you contact us or book a call), the steps necessary to enter into or perform a contract with you as a client, or our legitimate interest in running and improving Lighter — balanced against your rights.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of third-party services to run Lighter, each of which processes personal data on our behalf:

  • Calendly — to manage call scheduling. Calendly may store data outside the UK/EEA under its own privacy policy.
  • Vercel — to host this website and provide anonymised analytics.
  • Namecheap Private Email — to receive and send email at hello@get-lighter.com.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and client data for as long as needed to provide our services, and for up to 6 years afterwards to meet UK tax and accounting record-keeping obligations, after which it is securely deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data, where we're not required to keep it
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your data
  • Ask for your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@get-lighter.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies

Our website itself does not set tracking cookies. If you open the Calendly booking widget, Calendly may set its own cookies as part of its scheduling service — see Calendly's privacy policy for details.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent changes.
